I’m sure you heard about the total eclipse this week. We missed it here in the UK because of the timing, but I think it brought a powerful message for us all, one of discovery, courage, and personal rebirth, kind of like a cosmic reset.
People in the past used to think that eclipses were about facing up to what scares us, finding our strength, and maybe changing up who we are a bit. For some, it also symbolises a period of intensity, excitement, and perhaps a bit of chaos. Yet, it’s within this very chaos that great change and growth are possible, nudging us further along in our personal and professional journeys.
Jas was lucky enough to capture this moment while he was in Mexico and even snapped a couple of photographs (see below). He said it reminded him that sometimes, we all need that reset button, whether mentally or physically, to prepare ourselves for new beginnings and possibilities.
I also personally think that the constant pressure to be successful we often place on our shoulders can sometimes overshadow—pun not intended—the beauty of slow and gradual successes. So for me, this eclipse is also a reminder to not be too hard on ourselves.
Each step forward, no matter how small, is a victory in its own right. It’s about savouring the journey, and recognising that the path to our goals is paved with moments of learning, personal development, and sometimes, unexpected joy.
Obviously, the eclipse can mean a lot of things for different people; perhaps it’s taking a moment to reflect on areas of your life that are ripe for change or growth, or maybe it’s about giving yourself the space to heal and improve. Whatever it is, I hope it somehow inspires you on a deeper level.
For me and Jas, it’s a sign to be grateful for how far we’ve come and to embrace new chapters and the adventures they bring.
