My daughter Jasmine recently celebrated her 17th birthday and hit a major milestone straight away—she took her driving theory test on her birthday itself, and proudly passed! Clearly, she’s eager to embrace her newfound independence (and share her success with the world!).
Not long after, she had her first driving lesson. I imagined a gentle start—maybe practising changing gears on quiet side roads. But surprisingly, her first lesson took her straight onto dual carriageways, hitting speeds of up to 65 mph! She returned home absolutely buzzing and brimming with confidence.
It struck me how similar this is to running a business. Sometimes, when we expect a gentle start or a gradual learning curve, we find ourselves thrown straight into the fast lane. It might seem overwhelming, but these unexpected challenges often boost our confidence more than a steady start ever could.
