As a business owner, sometimes you just can’t do it all

When a business is going great, we feel like we have everything under control and there’s nothing out there that we don’t know. It’s only when the business encounters a few bumps on the road that we start to realise there are still a lot to learn about running a business.

In my experience as a Business Coach, I’ve noticed that a lot of business owners are reluctant to hire seek help because they see it as a sign of weakness and incompetence. The truth is that few of us know everything, and we all need guidance to help us reach our full potential. I do not claim to know everything there is to know about entrepreneurship, but when I work with a client, I make sure we determine the root cause of each failed scenario and work our way to address those problems.

The results you want aren’t happening

The most common reason to seek help is when you aren’t seeing the results you want. You have goals, but you can’t seem to achieve them. Too often, part of the problem is that you are too close to the situation. You think you know what you need to do. Or maybe you are excessively attached to a plan or concept that really isn’t working. A Business Coach can bring an outsider’s subjective point of view of the situation and help you get beyond the problem.

Everything in front of you feels overwhelming

When you’re starting to feel overwhelmed by your business, it can be a sign that it’s time to get outside reinforcement to get you through the problem. When you feel overworked, as if there isn’t enough time in the day, you can no longer be effective. A Business Coach can come in, look at your processes, and suggest changes until you feel like you’ve gain more room for yourself to work without getting burned out.

You can’t implement your plans the proper way

Sometimes, you do know what to do, but you don’t implement it — maybe because you lack the courage, you’re not sure whether it’s the right thing to do, or you just simply don’t want to take the risk. No matter how brilliant your vision is for your company, nothing will happen if you refuse to take the steps to achieve it. A Business Coach can help you see things more clearly so it would be easier for you to make decisions. It takes a certain skill to be able to balance objectivity and trusting your feelings.
